North campus, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, April 19th, 2019: A delegation from Yogyakarta National University, Indonesia visited GDUFS. SUI Guangjun, Chairman of University Board, met the guests at the VIP Hall in the Administration Building. The two sides had a lively discussion in terms of strengthening academic exchanges and cooperation.

SUI welcomed the delegation's visit and gave a brief introduction of the university, focusing on the history; programs of international cooperation and exchange, and scientific research; as well as its Indonesian language major. He pointed out that the university has distinctive international characteristics. Indonesian is one of the 26 foreign language majors of GDUFS and has cultivated a large number of outstanding talents in recent years. He thanked the Yogyakarta National University for their support in the development of the Indonesian Language major, and hoped that the two universities could cooperate closely to deepen their cooperation in the future.
Margana, Vice President of Yogyakarta National University, expressed his gratitude and briefly introduced the operation of the National University of Yogyakarta. He pointed out that GDUFS is an important partner of Yogyakarta National University. In recent years, both sides have achieved fruitful results in student exchanges. In the future, he hoped that the two sides will deepen cooperation in student exchange, cooperative research and publishing, short-term training, and other aspects.

After the meeting, the delegation performed Javanese traditional dances, Javanese shadow puppets and gamelan instruments in the lecture hall of the Buliding 6.
