Dean of Bali Tourism Institute Visited GDUFS

North Campus, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, June 13th 2018: On June 13th, Dewa Gede Ngurah Byomantara, Dean of Bali Tourism Institute, Indonesia, and his delegation, visited GDUFS. JIAO Fangtai, Vice President of GDUFS, met and talked about cooperation with the guests in the Reception Hall in the Administration Building.

 

Talk between the two sides

 

JIAO Fangtai expressed that with the coming of the era of globalization, education is gradually becoming internationalized. GDUFS is a university with distinctive international features, and internationalized students are one of the major indicators. So far about 20% of students have the background of studying abroad and almost 100% of students who study minority language majors have the experience of studying abroad. There are 27 foreign language majors in GDUFS and the Indonesian language major was established in 1970 and has a history of 48 years until now, thus has a mature running mode. GDUFS is looking forward to cooperating with Bali Tourism Institute in projects including student and teacher exchange, and scientific and academic research.

 

Dewa Gede Ngurah Byomantara mentioned that Bali Tourism Institute is affiliated with the Ministry of Tourism of Indonesia and its hotel management major and tourism management major rank high in the nation. With the more and more frequent communication between the two countries, Indonesia is in urgent need of talents who understand Chinese. Bali Tourism Institute hoped to establish a cooperative relationship with GDUFS and explore more about cooperation in double degree programs, exchanges of teachers and construction of practice base during this visit.

 

After the meeting, representatives of both sides talked about details of cooperation specifically. CAI Hong, Dean of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, and relevant leaders from the School of Business, Faculty of Asian Languages and Cultures, Faculty of Chinese Language and Culture, and Indonesian Research Center, also attended the meeting.
