On July 7th, Tony Ganngiyan, Governor of Yap – one of the four states of Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) – led the delegations of the Yap government officials and dancers to visit GDUFS. SUI Guangjun, General Secretary and President of GDUFS, welcomed and received the delegations. Vice President JIAO Fangtai; CAI Hong, Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, and LIANG Xuehong, Dean of the Institute of International Education, also joined the delegations.

SUI extended the warmest welcome to the delegations and introduced to them in detail the history and development of our university. Both parties conducted an in-depth discussion on various topics, including scientific research. Tony Ganngiyan said that he had been briefed about GDUFS even though it was the first time for him to come here, because two of the officials had attended GDUFS's courses for the youth leaders from the Pacific countries. He added that he is fully supportive of the Pacific-island related research of GDUFS and he hoped we can render them support in Chinese-language teaching in return.
