Students from the Faculty of Asian Languages and Cultures put on ethnic clothing to show the characteristics of their language majors: Japanese Kimono, Korean Hanbok, Sari from India, Kampuchea water cloth, Ao Dai from Vietnam, Indonesian Batik and so on. Also, European palace dress, Russian long dress and Spanish bullfighting dress were shown by students from the Faculty of European Languages and Cultures. Moreover, they printed and raised a big QR code of the faculty student union to attract visitors’ eyes.

GUO Guihang, Dean of SEIB (School of English for International Business), introduced three features to students and parents: First, implement full-English teaching, which enables students to be immersed in English integrated into business studies. Second, link theory to practice. Third, strengthen internationalized teaching by introducing courses from elite schools overseas.

JIANG Jilu, Vice Dean of School of Accounting, said GDUFS’s internationalized training mode, Innovation Classes and other featured classes have great appeal to students and parents.

A Cultural and Creative Center attached to the major of Cultural Management in the Faculty of Chinese has newly opened to follow the stream of new media, together with the existing Creative Writing Center. “Compared with other colleges, GDUFS provides more opportunities for students to study abroad. The proportion of students going abroad has reached to 26%”, said Mr. WANG from the Faculty of Chinese.

During the event, volunteers answered questions from parents and students with enthusiasm, and some foreign teachers also gave information to the visitors. Dance squad from the Faculty of Chinese performed dancing with natural grace, which caught people’s eyes.

Innovative technology was also a highlight of the event. Virtual reality (VR) equipment created a truly immersive experience for users. The robot translator switching freely between different languages was the most popular.

“I take a fancy to the language atmosphere and learning environment of GDUFS”, said a student who showed great interest in the Japanese language major. She also emphasized that she chose GDUFS because of the Japanese major, and her father would respect her and follow her interest.
